Jim Denoncourt

Jim Denoncourt, is the kind of musician who makes you believe the desert can grow anything.

He’s the guy you’ll spot in one band one weekend and a completely different lineup the next-guitar, bass, keys, banjo, whatever the song needs. 

Multi-instrumentalist doesn’t quite cover it, he treats instruments like old friends he keeps in rotation, each one with its own personality and a story.  He’s logged years across multiple genres, from 70’s and 80’s rock to Bluegrass, the kind of player who shows up, lock in and makes everyone around him sound better. 

When Jim’s not on stage or jamming, you’ll find him with his hands in the dirt. Gardening is his other great passion- tending plants the way he tends melodies, tatient and hand-on. 

and when the weather turns or the mood strikes, he’s out fishing, rod in hand, letting the Truckee River or a quiet lake do the talking. 

That mix of music, soil and water keeps him grounded in a way that shows up in everything he plays.

But here’s the part that really matters: Jim teaches.
